ISRAELI OPERA FESTIVAL AT MASADA

LA TRAVIATA, JUNE 12-17, 2014

Following three highly successful productions in 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Israeli Opera Festival at Masada has earned itself a place on the international summer open air opera circuit. The fortress of Masada serves as the backdrop to the opera, which is staged in a specially erected amphitheater and opera village on the floor of the desert. The clear desert nights, the cool breeze and the breathtaking views promise an unforgettable experience for opera lovers.

The festival will return to the foot of Masada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the lowest point on earth at the Dead Sea, with a spectacular new production of La traviata by Giuseppe Verdi

During the festival period guests will be able to enjoy a performance by Israeli world singer Idan Raichel, accompanied by international singers, on 13 June 2014.

For the first time at the Israeli Opera Festival at Masada, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Kent Nagano, will perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, with the participation of a chorus and international soloists, on 15 June 2014.

The festival at Masada will be followed immediately by a weekend of Amadeus Mozart in the spectacular setting of the subterranean Crusader halls in Acco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There will also be the option of a sumptuous pre-performance Crusader's Banquet served in the subterranean halls.

Amiel Tours is proud to have been chosen as one of the official operating partner for this special event!!
